What’s in my ‘changing bag’ ?

It is no secret (I’ve spoke on previous posts about this ‘problem’) I AM an overpacker... loud and proud, never mind packing ‘everything but the kitchen sink’ that’s coming with me aswell.

The amount of holdalls/weekend bags I have gone through because I’ve tripled the recommended weight limit and theyve ended up breaking! and DON’T even start me on hand luggage, you know that part when Lee Evans talks on one of his tours about wearing everything so he doesn’t have to check in luggage at the airport well he’s basically talking about me except I wear everything I can so I don’t have to pay for extra luggage or leave anything behind. I genuinely get anxiety on the way to airports that I haven’t packed enough?!  Please tell me I’m not the only one?

So you can imagine what my ‘changing bag is like’ just call it a pram anchor, forget putting the breaks on... my bag is heavy enough to do the job! No...actual...joke....here.

My pram came with the tiniest ‘changing bag’ more like a bag fit for the borrowers... Omg How the F*ck did I even use that for a good 4 weeks?!? I totally underestimated the pure and utter ‘sh*te’ I would pack ‘incase of emergency’ no genuinely, I panic we’d get stuck in a lift and need supplys or that Freddie would do 20 poopoo nappy’s in the space of nipping for lunch... and you never know when your gonna need, calpol, thermometer, 5 outfit changes and 8 bibs right?! Not to mention enough entertainment for a class of 30...just me again?!

I am constantly ‘de cluttering’ my changing bag... (just making room for more shit) that stays de cluttered for about 60 whole minutes.

So what’s inside??

Nappys - two sizes (because you never know he may have a growth spurt whilst out ayee?) I pack about 5 nappys and then by the time I’ve run around gathering other bits... I’ve packed another 5 I just worry we’ll get stranded somewhere and NEED them, plus I’m over board on the changing!

Wipes - OBVIOUSLY. BUT not just bumbum wipes... no no anti bac wipes too, I’m an over the top germ buster when it comes to my little man ,so aswell as a tube of anti bac we have wipes... because just imagine squeezing anti bac all over the show?!

Dinner set - now I’m not talking a 12 piece dinner set (even thats a bit much for miss pack ya life for a day trip) I take a plate, bowl and some spoons, I don’t trust restaurant cleanliness you see and not many places cater for rugrats in the dinner ware department.

Medicines - who has a medicine cabinet? Well I AM a walking medicine cabinet... Calpol check, piriton (recently added after an allergic reaction) check,  Tixylicks check, bonjela check, teething granules.... check! You never know when you’re going to need it... and with an over active brain like mine it’s better to carry a 15 stone bag around with me than egg on my anxiety!! P.s I also carry a thermometer (I’m obsessed with making sure he doesn’t overheat)

Socks - 20 ‘pairs’ the child will not keep his socks on... if you have me on instagram you’ll probably notice Freddie spends his days with only one sock on (if I’m ‘lucky’) I honestly can not tell you how much time i spend putting his socks ‘back on’ throughout the day!

Toys - Not that Freddie is a ‘toy kinda guy’ but that doesn’t stop me bringing half his toy box out to play with us!!! Never know when his tambourine could come in handy! I start the packing sesh with one or two toys, then by the time we’ve left I have 52 toys ‘oooo he might want this though’ ‘ahh what about that’ reeeee-dicc-you-lusssss!!!

Extra clothes - For them poopoo explosions or VERY messy meal times!

Pre made milk carton- Freddie has his normal powder formula botbots but I ALWAYS carry a pre made carton one in my bag as-well with a sterilised Bottle just incase! I rarely ever use it but you just never know!

Jars of food - I like to have some on me spare! Even though I’ll make freddie a healthy packed lunch! (Mini sarnies, finger size veg sticks, fruit, yoghurt, cheese)

So as you can probably tell, my ‘changing bag’ is a real life tardis, please tell me I’m not the only one? I mean I know there’s shops on every street but I just feel more comfortable knowing I’m ‘equipped’ there and then.

What do you pack in yours?

9 and a bit months

It's been 9 months and 1 week sinse I became a Mummy (OMG still feels so weird that I am a Mum, I have a real life baby... bloody cray cray) and what an adventure, Rollercoaster, Amazing, exhausting time it has been.

Freddie amazes us every single day, from crawling at just turned 5 months to pulling himself up onto furniture at 7 ! Now standing unaided (for little amounts of time) running across furniture and having 8 teeth!!! Kid came out teething I swear! He eats anything and everything Olives (That's ma boyyyyyy), sprouts, avacado ... even some NON edible objects *cover eyes monkey face* that I have to pull him away from... wires, baby wipes, top of the radiator, but not toys though... oh no.. he's NOT interested what so ever, so it's reaaalllyyyy handy that he's just got a truckfull for Christmas !!! 'They are so 'newborn entertainment' Mum, I like remote controls and mobile phones and LOVE the fireplace.' Freddos is the cheekiest monkey EVER, the boy understands everything we say, I just know it lol... I change the tone of my voice when he shouldn't be doing something... (If you have me on Instagram you will have heard my Mum voice in my story's!) 'Freddie Nooooooo' and literally he will stop what he's doing look at me and show me his mouth full of teeth with his big smile and flutter his huge blue eyes and I'm just like 'Oh gorgeous little baby boy you carry on, can I get you some chocolate? How about another wire to chew on? Whatever you want it's yours' haha, he just KNOWS that smile
Gets me and I feel like it is going to cause problems later down the line! Lol!

Up until Freddie turned 5 months and was on the move, I genuinely thought Mum life was a doddle, I couldn't understand when people say how challenging it is or tiring it is, he slept so well, was full of chill, We had to wake him for bottles the 1st month lol! laid still for nappy changes and drunk a full bottle of milk without pushing botbot away & poking his head up like a meer cat at any little noise, howwwwwwww things have changed in just four months, talk about keeping me on my toes and permanent bags under my eyes, not to mention resembling a zombie 7/7 days of the week ,spending my bank balance on dry shampoo oh and then theres all that eating... nothing until about 4pm!! so this is THAT challenging Mum life yeahhh?! I get it now I really bloody do haha! I wouldn't change it for the world though it's bought out a whole other part of me that I never knew I had (living on 23 mins of sleep over 3 days) and it's taught me LOADS! I love my little man with every single bit of love I have and I feel so lucky to watch him grow/change/ develop daily! Being a Mummy is the bloody best! Thank you my little world. Xx
